Founder and CEO of Revnix. My team builds cloud-native systems and AI platforms on open source, and I build my own products on the side. This site is where I share the work, and what I learn along the way.
MY STORY
I didn't start in tech. My first job was as a civil engineer. I lasted about a year before I admitted the truth: I wanted to build things on a screen, not on a worksite.
So I taught myself design, then code. By 2012 I was freelancing from Pakistan, building front-ends for anyone who would hire me. No plan. I just loved making things work.
I got lucky with mentors. Aamer Shahzad, Ahmad Awais, Nouman Yaqoob, and Fahad Murtaza taught me to care about the craft, not just the paycheck.
In 2015 I hit a problem on a project, couldn't find a tool for it, and built my own. That became my first WordPress plugin, Animated Featured Image. Real people downloaded it. That feeling never got old.
The WordPress community became home. I spoke at WordCamps, co-organized WordCamp Islamabad, and contributed to WordPress core. Sharing what I knew taught me more than any job could.
The work got bigger too. Through Toptal and Codeable I worked with serious teams: a WordPress VIP build for the PCI Security Standards Council, a wellness app with Owlet that helps babies sleep, a Shopify store for KitBash3D.
Then I stopped wanting to do it all alone.
I started Revnix in 2020, and over the last couple of years I've gone all in.
I'd watched too many companies get messy delivery and code they didn't really own. I wanted to build the team I always wished existed: one that thinks like founders, cares about craft, builds on open foundations, and hands clients a stack that's truly theirs. No lock-in. No black boxes.
That's what Revnix does today: cloud-native systems and AI platforms, built on open source.
On the side, I build in public. I ship open-source tools like Nextly and write down what I learn. Some experiments grow into Revnix ventures. Most stay small. I like keeping that line clear.
I'm not the founder who pretends it's all figured out. A lot of this has been learning out loud, breaking things, and showing up again the next day.
More than a decade in, still building from Pakistan for the world. The community even takes me places: WordCamp Asia in Taiwan and Thailand, with Europe and the US next on my list.
And honestly? I feel like I'm just getting started.
"Mobeen personifies what the WordPress community is all about. He is ever positive, ever helpful and eager to help." - Nidhi Jain, WordCamp Asia organizer
